We deliver personalized outpatient care that empowers adolescents, young adults, and families to heal and thrive.
Evidence-based therapies that support mental health, recovery, and personal growth every step of the way.
Portum Behavioral Health provides a range of evidence-based programs tailored for adolescents, including a Partial Care Program (PCP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Aftercare Program. Our PCP offers structured day treatment for teens needing intensive support, while our IOP provides flexible after-school care, allowing teens to balance school and recovery. The Aftercare Program supports ongoing recovery with weekly groups, helping teens maintain progress while engaging in daily responsibilities.
We take an integrated, holistic approach to treat both mental health challenges (such as anxiety, depression, or mood disorders) and substance use disorders simultaneously. Our personalized treatment plans use evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), combined with hands-on activities, to address root causes and build coping skills for long-term recovery.
Our programs are designed for adolescents aged 13 to 18 (18-year-olds must be in high school to qualify for the adolescent program) facing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or both. They are ideal for teens who need more support than weekly therapy but do not require 24/7 inpatient care. Candidates may include those with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-injurious behaviors, or substance use issues, as well as those transitioning from inpatient treatment. Contact us at (551) 306-4000 for an assessment to determine eligibility.
Signs that your teen may need treatment include significant changes in behavior, such as withdrawal from family and friends, declining school performance, sudden mood swings, irritability, or loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed. Other red flags include secretive behavior, physical signs like bloodshot eyes or unexplained weight changes, or evidence of substance use, such as finding drug paraphernalia. If you notice these signs persisting or worsening, contact Portum Behavioral Health at (551) 306-4000 for a professional assessment to determine if treatment is needed.
Portum Behavioral Health treats a wide range of mental health conditions in adolescents, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Our team uses evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, to address these conditions, often alongside co-occurring substance use disorders, to support comprehensive recovery.
Portum Behavioral Health provides specialized care for young adults through our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The IOP offers 9+ hours of structured support each week, including group therapy, individual counseling, and life-skills training.
We take an integrated, holistic approach to treat both mental health conditions (such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or ADHD) and substance use disorders simultaneously. Our personalized treatment plans use evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), combined with skill-building workshops and practical life strategies, to address root causes and equip young adults with tools for long-term recovery.
Our Young Adult treatment program is designed for individuals ages 18–35 who are managing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or both. Our IOP program is ideal for young adults who need more structure than weekly outpatient therapy but do not require inpatient care. It’s especially well-suited for those balancing independence, career goals, and relationships while working toward recovery.
Warning signs may include withdrawing from friends or family, sudden changes in work or school performance, mood swings, irritability, or losing interest in activities once enjoyed. Other red flags include difficulties managing daily responsibilities, noticeable changes in sleep or appetite, or signs of substance use, such as frequent hangovers or unexplained financial issues. If these concerns persist or worsen, contact Portum Behavioral Health at (551) 306-4000 for a confidential assessment to determine the best level of care.
Portum Behavioral Health provides treatment for a broad range of conditions common in early adulthood, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Our clinical team uses evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. We also address co-occurring substance use disorders, ensuring young adults receive comprehensive, integrated care that supports long-term recovery and resilience.
We begin with a thorough assessment to understand each individual’s needs, whether they are an adolescent or a young adult. We consider factors such as mental health history, current symptoms, substance use concerns, and daily responsibilities like school, work, or family. Based on this evaluation, our team recommends the most appropriate program, whether that’s Partial Care, IOP, or Aftercare, to provide the right level of structure and support.
